Cataracts-Causes,Symptoms and Treatment♥♥♥

Cataracts-Causes,Symptoms and Treatment♥♥♥

The lens of our eye is normally transparent and it focuses the light to
the retina by means of refraction phenomena, which infact allows a clear
image to form. Cataracts are mainly caused due to the breakdown of
proteins in the lens leading to a state of opaque spots due to the
... clump
formation. The spots hinder light from being reflected to the retina
and the vision becomes blurred. The intensity of the impaired vision is
based upon the size and location of the cataracts in the lens.

CAUSES:

This condition is mainly caused due to ageing.Various other researches say that it may be caused due to smoking and also due to continuous exposure to UV rays from the sun.Another cause may be due to the lack of antioxidants like vitamin C and E, selenium and beta-carotene.Diabetes.Obesity.Eye injury may also lead to this state.

SYMPTOMS:

Gradual blurring of vision without pain.Sensitivity to sun rays and also to car headlights at night.Seeing haloes around lights.Changes in colour perception.
